NEW : CIM DIRECTOR JUMPSTARTS ASIAN MASSAGE THERAPY PROGRAM WITH CORE-COMPETENCY BUILDING IN THAI MASSAGE AT WAT PO SCHOOL OF TRADITIONAL MEDICINE
With support from the De La Salle University Science Foundation, Inc., Dr. Dante G. Simbulan started his one-month Traditional Thai massage training near Bangkok last September 1. The course ends on September 29, 2007. The training venue is at the Chetawan Health School branch of Wat Po School of Traditional Medicine in Salaya, in the neighboring province of Phuttamonthon near the Salaya campus of Mahidol University. Traditional thai massage is sometimes called Thai Yoga massage or assisted yoga therapy, which combines tuina with assisted- yoga stretches. The program is part of CIM's exploration into Asian traditional medicine, aiming to incorporate various safe and effective massage therapies of Asia into mainstream health care and for family-based preventive health care education .
